My New Title

Sometime during my pregnancy mike started coming home from work and calling out "Where's my baby's mama?" He would say it with a redneck accent, like he just found out by appearing on the Maurie Pouvich show that he is in fact the real father, not his roommate or best friend or something. Isn't monogamy great!, you never have to worry about STDs or I'm LATE...! or wonder whose child your carrying! Luckily, no paternity test needs to be done in our case, milly is 100% mike! I think Heavenly Father wanted there to be no confusion.

I love being the baby's Mama! my favorites so far are:

  • the funny faces she makes while poohing. (we call them pooh faces)
  • when I know she has had enough to eat because she snuggles in while being burped, rather than frantically searching for something else, anything else, to suck on.
  • her smell, when she is not messy in the diaper.
  • handing her off to dad after late night feedings, and cuddling myself back into bed.
  • her squawk. (very different from a cry)
  • hearing mike say "OH NO . . . Emily!" in the middle of a diaper change.
  • her Orville Redenbaucker face (it's one of the cute pooh faces)
  • the turtle face is cute too (it's the look of contentment when she's done eating)
  • watching her proud daddy read her a bedtime story or make one up.

Watch her grow!

My little girl isn't so little anymore! She is now 22.5 in. long and has already surpassed her birth weight.
